Josué Maximiliano Garibay was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México; raised all over SoCal (Long Beach, Yucaipa, Buena Park, La Puente, Monrovia, Duarte, Hacienda Hts.); and educated in the Bay area (B.A. UC Berkeley, M.A. SF State). His research interests and theoretical framework for his master’s thesis includes an amalgamation of raciolinguistics, whiteness studies, writing studies, critical race theory, critical pedagogies, and composition studies. Max currently teaches English Composition to 1st and 2nd year students and collaborates with the Metro program here at SF State.
