We are pleased to announce that the MA English programs are now part of the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) which enables students in 16 Western states and territories to enroll in participating public graduate programs as nonresidents, yet pay the lower resident tuition rate.

What is WRGP, and how does it work?

“WRGP” is the Western Regional Graduate Program. It’s a tuition-discounting program similar to the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) and it is coordinated by WICHE. WRGP enables students from WICHE states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) to enroll in more than 400 participating graduate programs and pay the enrolling institution’s resident tuition rate, instead of the nonresident rate that an out-of-state student would normally pay. WRGP is a tremendous opportunity for Western states to share distinctive programs (and the faculty who teach them) and build their workforce in a variety of disciplines. WRGP is not for short-term exchange—it is meant to be used for a full graduate degree or graduate certificate. Programs wishing to offer students the WRGP resident rate must seek approval to participate from institution’s provost, vice president of academic affairs, or graduate dean.
