I am an English instructor at several colleges around the Bay Area. At SF State, I teach English 114, 104/105, 214, and 216. Fun fact: I actually went to SF State my freshman year of undergrad, so I find it really fun to teach the very classes that I took here in my short stint as a gator! I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English with an emphasis in Writing from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s Degree in English Literature with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

I am most excited about facilitating a classroom that is collaborative, challenging, and fun. I am endlessly interested in language and communication and have found teaching writing encompasses these two things along with my interests in the written word. I teach with a grading system that I call “growth-oriented grading” where students are assessed based on their growth throughout the semester rather than given grades on individual assignments. I have found this to make each semester both productive and anxiety-free for students in my classes.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, exercising, hanging out with my dog Mr. Moose, and going to see live music.

Please consult your course syllabus or contact the instructor directly for office hours.
